A Big Milestone

I hit a significant ISM milestone on Friday! I had my first mentor visit with Ms. Watkins from Refresh Frisco. We did have to move our in-person meeting to a virtual format, but our meeting still went well. During our meeting, Ms. Watkins and I agreed that a good final project would be to make an addition to ReTextile’s strategic plan. This portion will focus on how ReTextile will run while I am away at college.

I’m looking forward to our mentorship as a whole. Ms. Watkins invited me to a few Refresh Frisco events and a few of her speaking engagements so she could model certain aspects of running a nonprofit to me.

This week, I will be prioritizing filling out ReTextile’s 501(c)3 status forms. This is a goal that I put in my strategic plan that I have been avoiding, so I need to get started on it, especially now that I have a mentor who will be keeping me accountable about this sort of thing.

The only major upcoming thing is our next mentor visit on Friday and another quilting day with two Gypsy Quilters on Saturday. I’m very excited about both of these things!
