Things have been pretty busy for ReTextile and ISM these past few weeks.

The UNICEF fabric cutting event was successful! All the volunteers were so motivated and did a fantastic job cutting the fabric. Most gratifying, I got to expose young people to some of the fundamentals of quilting, which is one of my long-term goals for ReTextile.

Speaking of goals, I have mostly finished the goal-setting portion of ReTextile’s strategic plan. I also created a vision statement to supplement our mission statement. My goal for this week is to complete the SWOT analysis portion of the plan.

I also met with Audrey Young, the COO of ONE i/e, a nonprofit providing resources to entrepreneurs. This has probably been one of my favorite interviews so far, as Ms. Young went really in-depth with her experiences as a female entrepreneur and nonprofit board member, as well as her advice for ReTextile.

I have also continued working on my speech for the Plano Quilt Guild. I am considering this a part of my Original Work because one of the goals that I outline in ReTextile’s strategic plan is to increase the number of speaking engagements/networking I do for ReTextile.

Things have been going well, but they have been hectic, and as the holiday season gets into full swing they are only going to get busier.

See you next week,

Ashley
