Mad Dash

As I mentioned last week, things are pretty crazy right now for ISM and ReTextile.
On Saturday, I spent the whole day with Leslie Rose from the Gypsy Quilters. Together we made significant progress on two quilt tops for ReTextile which was so exciting! I’m going to be finishing up the quilt tops throughout the rest of December, but for now, that project is on pause as I prep for more pressing deadlines.
First, I am giving a ten-minute presentation to the Plano Quilt Guild. This is also exciting but extremely nerve-wracking as I will be speaking to a group of 80-90 people. But I feel a bit more confident than I usually do about public speaking because I’m so passionate about ReTextile, which makes it easier to talk about.
Second, the deadline for the ISM Original Work is coming up this Friday. I’m a bit behind schedule so I’m going to be prioritizing my Original Work this week, both in and outside of class. Part of the reason I haven’t been making as much progress as I need to is that I have never written a strategic plan, so it feels very intimidating. But I’m trying to get past that mindset and remind myself that while the strategic plan must be complete, it is still a fluid document that I can and probably will continue to edit as I use it.
Overall, there are a lot of deadlines coming up this week, so I’m making one last mad dash to get everything done!
See you next week,
Ashley
