Since I took a two-week break from doing any major work on ReTextile, I had some catching up to do. I spent some time replying to emails and sending emails to potential volunteers. Doing this has made me realize I need a better system for people to indicate their volunteer interest. Right now, it takes a little work on my end to sort out who I have contacted already. However, it's not a priority right now, so I feel okay waiting.

I also made some social media posts templates to showcase each of our 52 quilts as we receive them. One of my goals for ReTextile is to improve our social media presence, and the templates will help me post more consistently. I'm also going to be prioritizing talking about social media with my mentor this week.

That's the big event coming up. I have my first mentor visit on Friday! I'm so excited to meet Ms. Watkins in person. I've had my prep visit with Coach Goff and have some additional prep to do:

  1. Contact ISM alumni to ask what their first mentor visit looked like

  2. Prepare three final project ideas to bounce off Ms. Watkins

  3. print ReTextile materials (quilting guide, strategic plan, etc.)

  4. Familiarize myself with the mentor handbook

Some of these tasks are easy, and some are a bit more time-consuming, but if I keep up with my overall goal of time management, which I discussed in my last post, I think it's doable!

See you next week,

Ashley
