These past two weeks (Winter Break) have been relatively relaxed. Towards the end of the semester, I could feel myself getting burnt out, so I prioritized resting.

In terms of ReTextile and ISM, I met with another ISM student studying entrepreneurship. It was great to meet another ISM student studying something similar. Tia Nayar, one of the professionals I interviewed, put us in contact. I was excited to learn how her ISM journey, while not directed towards nonprofits, did have some focus on giving back to the community. It was an excellent opportunity to practice horizontal networking, and I'm excited to keep in contact.

I also started doing some brainstorming for the coming year. My goals for ReTextile are outlined in my strategic plan. That's an adjustment because I'm used to having my plans for ReTextile in my head or a much less formal document, but all the work that I put into the strategic plan is motivating me to stick to it. For ISM, my main goal is to pace myself. While creating my original work, I struggled with time management and pacing myself ties into my larger, personal goal of finding balance.

Overall, I'm glad I took a little break from ISM and ReTextile. I feel more excited than ever to get back to work!

See you next week,

Ashley
