I feel like I’m always saying it, but there has been a lot going on with ISM and ReTextile lately.

I had my second mentor visit. I probably enjoyed this one even more than my first one because I shared my original work (strategic plan) with Ms. Watkins. She is the first person I’ve done this with, and it was great to get her feedback. She also gave me some tasks to do to start obtaining 501(c)3 certified, which is the national certification for nonprofit organizations.

For our next mentor visit, I will be attending a networking event with her to observe how the process works. The other major thing I will be working on this week is preparing for my in-class speech next week. There we will be presenting our original work and our mentors.

Looking back for a moment, this past week, ReTextile was featured on the UNICEF USA Instagram page for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It was such a pleasant surprise.

I also spent time with Leslie Rose from the Gypsy Quilters, and together we finished two more quilt tops for ReTextile. I also started working on finishing a quilt kit. My goal for February is to finish three quilts and cut three quilt kits to distribute.

I was really pleased with my productivity last week, so I'm hoping for another one!

See you next week,

Ashley
