This week and last week have been a bit slower for ReTextile and ISM, but there are some progress updates.

First, I had a meeting with Tia Nayar, the founder, and CEO of Wildflower Institute. I met her at the ISM Business Symposium and it was helpful to get feedback on ReTextile from a business perspective. She gave me a lot of great actionable items for ReTextile as well as some feedback on my resume. I’m planning to update that this week.

Second, I also spoke with Kelli White, an anti-human trafficking activist in Texas who was interested in learning more about ReTextile and how she could help. The work she does for victims of human trafficking is wonderful, and it was so inspiring to see her commitment to eliminating trafficking.

I’ve also been working on finding and/or making patterns for ReTextile. I’ve had a few quilt groups interested in making quilts reach out to me, and I want to make that process as easy as possible for them, as people like Lori Thompson from Quilts of Valor and Connie Keller from Quilt Country have recommended.

One thing I have been enjoying recently is seeing how much my network has grown from when I first started ReTextile. While there are no massive updates or milestones, I’m pleased with the progress that I've made. I'm also going to continue working on my speech for the Plano Quilt Guild and my Original Work Project for ISM.

See you next week,

Ashley
